DRUNK DRIVERS AGAINST MAD MOTHERS

LOS ANGELES, CA (ddamm.com) - Young hollywood star Shia LaBeouf was taken into custody for DUI after an early moring accident that occurred in Hollywood.  Two vehicles collided after LaBeouf attempted to make a left turn in front of the other vehicle.  The result was LaBeouf's Ford F-150 pickup truck overturned on the intersection between La Brea and Fountain. LaBeouf was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was booked and cited for misdemeanor DUI. 

Isabel Lucas was the passenger in the overturned vehicle and sufferred minor injuries. Lucas, 23, is the computer hacker co-star in the original Transformers film from 2007.

Publicist Melissa Kates released a statement:

"Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008.  Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time."
